The International Teresian-Sanjuanist Center (CITeS) and the Center for Buddhist Studies (CBS) of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), co-organizers of the event, had to cancel the "2nd.THERESIAN MYSTIC AND INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE: CHAN/ZEN BUDDHISM AND CARMELITE SPIRITUALITY: ON LOVE AND COMPASSION" that was scheduled to take place in Avila, Spain, July 26-30, 2022, due to restrictions imposed by COVID-19 in Northeast Asia, where most of the speakers of the chan/zen tradition were to come from.
It was held, however, the "Third International Award Teresa of Jesus and Interreligious Dialogue" which was awarded on Friday, July 29, 2022. This Award was created by CITeS with private donations to expand the spiritual health of humanity and promote authentic interreligious dialogue. This third call focused on comparative studies between Carmelite spirituality and other religious traditions, and its winner was awarded a prize of 6000 Euros. For the four finalists, the prize was 1000 euros each. The winning articles will be published in a special commemorative volume.
